Rotterdam is becoming a great culinary city, with nice restaurants, great chefs and cool food festivals. Last weekend the second edition of Rauwkost festival took place, in the Fenixloodsen at Katendrecht. No food trucks or street food at this food festival. At Rauwkost the best and most creative chefs of Rotterdam, were preparing their signature dishes for a large crowd in improvised kitchens.
21 chefs representing different restaurants, like Chung Wai Liu from Restaurant Chung, Pepijn Schmeink from Dertien and Marcel van Zomeren from In Den Rust Wat.
Great food, great drinks and a great vibe
It was really cool to see the hard working chefs and their teams, preparing the best dishes. My personal favourite was the scallop with truffle and parmesan foam, made by Gert Blom from Restaurant Amarone and his team.
We had some amazing food, tasted some great wines and beers, learned somethingabout the future of our food at interesting pitches and overall enjoyed ourselves at Rauwkost.
